Cybersecurity & IT Infrastructure Leader — 13+ years securing government networks, leading technical teams, and building systems that work for the people who use them.
I'm a cybersecurity and IT infrastructure professional with over a decade of experience across municipal government, public education, and the U.S. Army. My work spans identity & access management, enterprise network security, virtualization, and endpoint management.
I've led technical teams in both civilian and military contexts — from managing city-wide network redesigns to supervising battalion communications in operational environments.
My approach: security and usability aren't opposites. Systems people understand and accept are more secure than systems they work around. I build with both in mind.
"A network locked down so tightly that users can't function defeats its own purpose. Security only matters in conjunction with user experience — treat usability as a security multiplier."
Led a full network redesign for the City of Saratoga Springs, consolidating disparate firewall infrastructure into a unified Palo Alto NGFW architecture. Engineered GJIS-compliant network segmentation to isolate the Police Department on a separate logical network. Extended city fiber infrastructure to a new fire station, merging three previously siloed locations connected via legacy IPSec tunnels.
Planned and executed multi-factor authentication integration across city government using Cisco Duo. Rather than mandating compliance, developed training materials explaining the security rationale to users — driving adoption through understanding rather than friction. Also integrated Apple Business Manager with Entra ID for streamlined MDM enrollment.
Spearheaded a 1:1 computing initiative at Saratoga Springs City School District, placing a device in the hands of every staff member and student — over 3,000 assets under management. Developed accompanying digital safety policies and procedures, and stood up MDM infrastructure to enforce compliance and automate device lifecycle management.
Built and maintain a multi-node virtualization environment for continuous learning and experimentation. Runs VMware vCenter 8 with clustered ESXi hosts, containerized services via Docker, workflow automation, network-attached storage, and local AI inference. Mirrors enterprise architecture patterns to stay current with technology trends outside of work hours.
Available for government IT leadership, cybersecurity, and infrastructure roles in the Capital Region and statewide (remote/hybrid). Active Secret clearance.
